Coming soon: the AnyTale Reading app
Today a finished book leaves AnyTale as a PDF. Soon there will be another option: we are building the AnyTale Reading app — our own reading platform, where the books you make can be found and read by other people.
What will change for you
After the last page there will be one more step: publishing. Your book gets its own page on the platform — a title, a short description, an age group and a few topics, so readers can find it. You decide whether it appears under your own name or a pen name.
How publishing will work
Every book goes through the same path:
Submitted for publication → review → live on the platform
A moderator reads every book before readers see it. If something needs changing, the book comes back to you with a comment saying what. Until a book passes review, readers do not see it.
Two things worth knowing in advance:
- A published book can no longer be edited — neither the text nor the illustrations. If you want to change something, duplicate the book and work on the copy.
- You can take a book off the platform at any time, and readers will no longer see it.
Is there anything to do now?
No. Keep making books: the ones you finish today can be published as soon as the platform opens. The one habit worth picking up now is reading a book through before you call it done — publishing will not be something you can undo.
As soon as the Reading app is available, a full guide to publishing will appear here.
