Does my work save automatically?

Yes — your books save automatically as you work. There's no “Save” button to remember, and you can close the tab and come back later without losing anything.

How autosave works

Every change you make in the Editor — text, illustrations, characters, page order — is saved for you in the background. You can check the status at any time:

  • The save indicator (the cloud icon) at the top of the Editor shows when everything is stored.
  • Open the Book menu (top-left) and the Save row reads “All changes saved” once your work is safe.

Where your books live All your books are on your dashboard, sorted by status:

StatusWhat it means
DraftsBooks you're still working on. New books start here and stay here — saved automatically — until they're published.
PublishedBooks you've shared to be read (see below).
ArchiveBooks you've set aside but want to keep.

Because everything autosaves to your account, your books are waiting for you the next time you sign in — on the same device or another one.

About publishing

Coming soon Publishing is on its way. The Published status will become available with the launch of the AnyTale Reading app — where finished books can be read on a phone or tablet.

Until then, your books stay safely in Drafts, and you can already share them right now by using Export to PDF or ordering a printed copy.

In short: you never have to save manually. Keep creating — AnyTale stores every change, and publishing to the Reading app is coming soon.
